HISTORY

1950
  • Commenced manufacture and sale of small electric motors under the name Showa Denki Seisakusho at the location of what is now the Osaka Branch Office.
1954
  • Received a license to manufacture AC motors and other applied equipment from the Minister of International Trade and Industry.
    Commenced full-scale production of blowers and power tools.
1956
  • Incorporated as Showa Denki Co., Ltd., with 1 million yen in capital.
1964
  • Completed construction of the Daito Factory located in Shindenkita-machi, Daito City.
1969
  • Completed construction of a blower manufacturing facility at Shindensakai-machi, Daito City.
1974
  • Completed construction of the Iga Factory and commenced operation there as Showa Furyoku Kikai Co., Ltd.
1975
  • Received JIS Mark Certification from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

1983
  • The Daito Factory was awarded the Osaka Bureau of MITI Director’s Award for Industrial Standardization and Excellence.
1984
  • Opened the Tokyo Technical Service Center.
1985
  • Expanded the Iga Factory buildings, adding a 300 kW testing facility. A heat-resistant test chamber for blowers was also installed.
1988
  • Completed construction of a new office building on the Daito Factory site.
1989
  • Enlarged and extended the Daito Factory buildings.
1992
  • Completed construction of a new building to serve as the Tokyo Branch Office.
1997
  • Daito Factory announced Mistresa (mist collector) CE marking.
1998
  • Completed construction of a new building to serve as the Nagoya Branch Office.
1999
  • Acquired ISO 9001 certification for the Daito Factory.
2000
  • Acquired ISO 9001 certification for the Iga Factory.
2004
  • Acquired ISO 14001 certification for the Daito and Iga Factories
  • Completed construction of a new Daito Factory facility, and opened the Okayama Sales Office
2008
  • Completed construction of a new building to serve as the Kanazawa Sales Office
2012
  • Established Showadenki (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
2013
  • Opened the Kyoto Sales Office
2015
  • Completed construction of a new building to serve as the Tokyo Branch Office
2016
  • Showa Furyoku Kikai Co., Ltd. (Iga Factory) changed its company name to Showa Denki Iga Co., Ltd.
2017
  • Established Showa Denki (Korea) Co., Ltd. in Korea
  • Established Showa Denki (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. in Taiwan
  • Entered into a capital alliance with Nishikawa Manufacturing Company, Limited
2018
  • Atsugi Sales Office closed and functions absorbed by the Tokyo Branch Office
2019
  • Entered into a capital alliance with Chiyoda Fan & Blower Co., Ltd.
2020
  • Closed the Kyoto Sales Office; relocated to the Shiga Sales Office
2022
  • Opened the Kobe Office and Certified specially controlled medical device dealership and leasing
2023
  • Established East Japan Technical Center and Central Japan Technical Center.
  • Tokyo Branch Office and North Kanto Sales Office relocated to the East Japan Technical Center.
  • Nagoya Branch Office was relocated to the Central Japan Technical Center.
